Dillon Christian School seeks an Athletic Director to provide each student an opportunity to participate in an extracurricular athletic activity that will foster physical skills and a sense of self worth and competence in a Christian environment.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Knowledge and understanding of sports and the principles of fair play is needed. Will develop, conduct, and evaluate the entire P.E. program at DCS for all grades. Oversee the overall program of extracurricular athletics for the school. May be asked to coach a varsity or junior varsity sport when volunteer coaches are not available. Lead, assign, and evaluate athletic volunteer coaches and athletic staff members. Foster good school-community relations keeping community aware of and responsive to the athletic program. Responsible for compliance with all SCISA Athletic Rules and Regulations. Responsible for the organization and scheduling of all athletic events, arrange officials and transportation for athletic participants and teams. Verify and monitor each student’s eligibility according to physical and academic requirements for each sport. Attend all Regional and State SCISA Coaches meetings during the year. Assist the DCS Booster Club for Athletics with the preparation and administration of the athletic program budget, inventorying and requisitioning program supplies and equipment and other financial matters of the athletic program. Assist the DCS Booster Club for Athletics in ticket sales and fund-raising events of the athletic program. Assist and Coordinate with the DCS Booster Club for Athletics all Award Banquets during the school year. Organize visiting teams' needs, lodging, meals, towels, gymnasium services, and field assistance as appropriate. Arrange for non-school use of playing fields and gym facilities with permission of the Headmaster and Board of Directors Keep records of the results of all junior and senior high school contests, maintain records of all award winners, stating the date and type of award including athletic scholarships. If degree appropriate, may teach classes in their area of expertise as needed by the Headmaster.

DEGREE REQUIREMENTS:

BS Degree in Physical Education*

*Other BS or BA Degrees will be considered if the applicant has additional coaching or physical education experience. Please list on your CV or resume.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will be of a Christian faith and must attend a local church in the North or South Carolina area.

The ideal candidate will be required to spend evenings and nights participating in practice, home and away game functions depending on time of the year and sport. DCS offers an excellent benefits and salary package commensurate with the applicants experience and degree.
