Athletic Committee Chairman's Message

It is an honor to serve you as Chairman of the Athletic Committee for the South Carolina Independent School Association. It is also a privilege to work to uphold and promote the spirit and philosophy of athletics by providing an equal playing field for all participants and encouraging good sportsmanship among all participants and spectators.

With a collective group of members from all over the state, the Athletic Committee will diligently work to ensure that our Constitution and Code of Conduct are maintained for every sport and every school. The Committee and I encourage your commitment to support and sustain the high goals and conduct requirements of our association.

Notes About Re-classification.

- Reclassification is done every two years.

- Football schools are classified by the enrollment of boys in grades 8-11. If a school has 48 boys or more, they may only play 11-Man football. A school with a male enrollment of less than 48 may choose between 8-Man and 11-Man football.

- All Sports Classifications (all sports except football) are based upon the enrollment of boys and girls in grades 8-11.
